Greetings from a heatwave.
Are you surviving? I feel like I’m almost not. This happens every year and we should be used to it right? The end of August delivers us a chilly morning and some cool evenings, tricks us into thinking that fall is coming, and then September arrives with an encore of real live summer.
This week has been fully focused on getting everyone into some kind of schedule - my girls are back at school, I’m working on integrating our brand new puppy into our daily routines (it’s truly like having a newborn…who will be a toddler in just a few short weeks), and falling headfirst into the madness of September and October wedding season in New England.
In between the hustle and bustle, I did come across a few things that were fun or inspiring or interesting or made me think of you, and I wanted to share. Maybe there will be something in this random list of items that is fun/interesting/inspires you!
This interview on Fresh Air with Mark Ronson, famous hip hop DJ, songwriter, etc (of course you already know who he is, you don’t need me to tell you, I mean he wrote Shallow), who produced the score for The Barbie Movie. You also don’t need me to tell you why The Barbie Movie is so fascinating, but each and every layer on its own has an enormous story. I loved to hear Mark talk about writing ‘I’m just Ken’.
You might remember me being completely obsessed with Dolly Alderton’s novel (and subsequently the series on Peacock) Everything I Know About Love? Well, she has another novel releasing this fall, which is officially at the top of my TBR list. Preorders are open, I ordered it this week!
I made an announcement last week that J.Crew is back and better than ever, and it keeps getting more true for me as the fall collections are released. This shrunken cable knit rollneck seems like something I would wear every day and probably need one of each color. They are doing this Lady Jacket in many, many iterations and it feels like it will be my vibe this fall, perhaps with some denim trousers. and excusez-moi with this party pochette! I could go on, but my point is - go now! (or wait for a sale, they always happen… looks like many things are 50% off today!)
When Britt and I were abroad (the best way IMO to describe any trip across the pond!), we spent several hours uncovering the delights on each and every floor of Liberty London. In the jewelry section, we came across the incredible work of CECE. I mean, these rings are beyond (and beyond my current budget, sadly). A dream! I’ve been pinning them to my wishlist board for a later date. As an aside, I also really love CECE’s website design.

Lastly, although I suppose this somewhat ties in with the topic of J.Crew, what do we think about the RHONY reboot? I’m into it so far, but could do without the very obviously manufactured drama (the cheese? Come on) between these ladies. Have you been watching?
